A Truly Outstanding Example of Authentic Antique American Country Primitive Stoneware Pancake Batter Jug. Circa Mid 19th Century - Approx 1860s. It is Rendered in a Very RARE LARGE 2 Gallon Storage Capacity Size ( Denoted by the Embossed "2" ). It has a Classic American The Greige Color Salt Glaze Exterior that is Wonderfully Uniform in Color. The Interior is Done in a Dark Coffee Brown Color. It has an Assortment of Large and Beautiful Blue Hand Decorated Features. It is Signed - Was Made by the Well Documented Maker EVAN R. JONES in PITTSTON PENNSYLVANIA. Condition can Best be Described as Pristine - Looks Like it has Hardly Ever Been Used - Displays Beautifully!. No Cracks - No Chips - No Repairs. It Does Have 1 Surface Glaze Imperfection - Brown Spot to the Right of the Spout This Being a Kiln Flaw and Surely Would Have Occurred in The Making - Firing Process. These Types of Stoneware Items were Fired in Large Kilns with Many Other Pieces at the Same Time and Glaze Imperfections - Spots Such as These are Quite Common and Acceptable by Today's Stoneware Collectors.
