What you have here is a lovely inlaid table by one of the titans of the French Art Nouveau movement, Émile Gallé. The top of the table is inlaid in mixed woods to form a beautiful painting like landscape scene. The bottom shelf has a few inlaid flowers on a birdseye maple background giving the almost trompe l'oeil impression that the flowers have just freshly fallen and are merely resting on top. The french polish is strong and gives the entire piece a radiant glow.

The artist's signature is inlaid in the lower right corner of the table top. This piece is cataloged in the book Gallé Furniture, by Duncan and DeBartha on pg. 154. Undoubtedly, this is a true collector's piece.
