Defined by mass, geometry, and subtraction, each piece is conceived as a refined architectural block reduced to its essential presence. Through circular openings and linear incisions, the collection explores the relationship between solid and void, treating negative space as an active structural element rather than a secondary absence. White inlaid lines act as precise markers of alignment and proportion, adding subtle graphic tension and reinforcing the objects’ measured, geometric language. Rooted in brutalist principles of weight, clarity, and permanence, block also reflects a japanese sensibility of restraint, material respect, and formal discipline. Despite their austere appearance, the works retain a tactile warmth: beneath the black finish, the oak’s density and grain remain perceptible, grounding each piece in physical reality.
