A dramatic, large-scale studio ceramic bowl hand-built in an abstract sculptural form with deeply impressed geometric and textural surface detailing. The organic, asymmetrical silhouette and expressive kiln-fired variations across the clay surface treat the medium as fine art rather than functional tableware — a true statement piece.
Signed; mark not yet identified. A unique vessel suited to a gallery shelf, console, or as a sculptural centerpiece in a collection of studio ceramics.
Curated from the private collection of artist Eve Paige Spencer, whose work is held in the permanent collection of the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery at Scripps College, California, and her husband, writer and art collector Donner Spencer.
