Each plate features a vibrant turquoise crackle-glazed ground adorned with a finely modeled arrangement of Japanese-inspired motifs including a folding fan, bamboo flute, flowering cherry branches and unfurling scrolls rendered in raised relief with hand-painted enamel decoration.

While unmarked, the design is highly reminiscent of English art pottery produced during the height of the Japonisme movement and is stylistically comparable to examples by Fielding & Co. and other Staffordshire potteries of the period.

Their relatively small scale makes them ideal for wall display, and the six together create an impressive decorative installation. They would be equally at home in an English country house, coastal traditional interior, or curated chinoiserie collection.

Good antique condition with attractive age-related crazing to the glaze and light wear consistent with over 100 years of age. No significant chips, cracks, or restorations observed. See less
