Beautiful Art Nouveau sterling silver overlay cranberry vase, likely manufactured by the Alvin Manufacturing Company (no markings visible or that I could find to confirm maker). Stamped “Sterling Silver Deposit 139.”
This piece features a hand-blown ruby red or cranberry glass body encased in an elaborate sterling silver floral design (dogwood?). Unfortunately the base glass is cracked but it is still well intact and not noticeable unless you pick the vase up and turn it over. No water leaks. *Please see pictures.* Vases of this type often date from the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1890-1910).
