The rim is decorated with … Read more Elegant oval ironstone serving platter signed Longchamp, Liserons collection, late 19th century, circa 1890, sepia-toned.

The rim is decorated with a continuous frieze of flowering bindweed, its supple, twining stems intertwining with great delicacy.
In the center, a repeat of the floral motif balances the composition.
The decoration is in sepia tones on the soft cream color of the earthenware.
The Longchamp factory, renowned for the quality of its ironstone, produced tableware that was both robust and elegant, intended for the fine tables of the bourgeoisie.
