Italian art Nouveau silver-plated metal and glass sculptural centrepiece, 1930s
Art Nouveau centrepiece featuring a shaped rectangular silver-plated metal base with two side bowls in etched ivory satin glass and an upper circular bowl supported by a sculptural female figure. The composition is distinguished by its refined balance and rich decorative scheme of floral motifs, scrollwork, festoons, and vegetal details, all characteristic elements of the Art Nouveau style. The upper bowl, with its shaped rim and etched decoration, enhances the lightness of the overall design, while the contrast between the silver-plated metal and the satin glass accentuates its elegance. Conceived as an important ornamental centrepiece, it represents an example of the decorative taste of the early twentieth century.
