Journal des dames et des modes ("Journal of Ladies and Fashion") was an influential French fashion magazine published between 1797 and 1839. It featured fashion illustrations along with poetry, theatre reviews, and fiction. It's main editor-in-chief, Pierre de La Mésangère (1761 - 1831), would roam all over Paris to find and sketch the latest fashions for the magazine.
As the description under the illustration indiacates, this poster features an illustration of a woman wearing a percale hood, barege scarf, and a percale dress with a muslin trim.
The poster has been matted and is in fair condition, with some rippling in the illustration's paper. See photos for more details.
