In the foreground, an elaborate table showcases a rich variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, and game, as well as a live turkey in a basket on the left. The composition includes several figures: the cook at the center of the scene evaluates a chicken, while on the right an assistant rolls out dough; at the doorway on the left, a hunter discreetly peers in, while next to a large fireplace with a burning fire, a figure watches over a cauldron. In the background, a couple observes a peacock placed in a basket atop a large sideboard. The work is characterized by a wealth of detail and variety of color, especially in the naturalistic elements, and follows the style and painting methods of Joachim Beuckelaer (1533-1574), a Flemish painter also active in Italy, known for his detailed depictions of food and domestic equipment, and renowned for his magnificent still lifes placed in the foreground. The painting has been restored and relined in the past. It is currently presented in a styled frame. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
