The composition is defined by an elegant reduction of form. A slender wooden frame with softened, rounded corners establishes the perimeter of the piece, containing the generous volume of the mattress without imposing upon it. Elevated by tapered black legs finished with polished brass sabots, the structure acquires a remarkable visual lightness, appearing to float effortlessly above the floor.

Its most distinctive feature is the cylindrical bolster cushion, secured by a leather strap that introduces both function and ornament through an economy of means characteristic of Ponti's work.
