The boxes were made in Germany in the Mid Century and were used to store tobacco and other smoking materials. However, thanks to their highly decorative and vintage style, they can be used for a wide variety of purposes. They are in excellent condition: only one box of four has a visible crack, as shown in the pictures.
Some wooden lids are equipped with a rubber/cork gasket.
