This piece cannot be attributed to specific people due to its unique style and necessary repairs. The hand-carved figurine, crafted from locally sourced wood, represents a female figure with incredible detail. It is believed to be from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and may possibly be attributed to the Azande community. The Azande people, known for residing in South Sudan and the Central African Republic, had a strong connection to the spiritual realm and their ancestral spirits. Whether displayed in ceremonial contexts or preserved within private collections, this Azande miniature figure showcases the artistic mastery and cultural significance of the Azande people in Congo.
