Hand-carved wood Kusu male figure with distinct body markings and influence from their Songye and Hemba neighbors. This unique, male figure has a headdress made from natural fibers, and has natural patina.
Hand-carved Kusu figure featuring a ritual âchargeâ on the head, wrapped in natural fibers. Among the Kusu people, such charges were used to activate spiritual power, often for protection or healing.
A compact, expressive piece blending sculptural form with traditional ritual significance.
