Set of six glazed ceramic plates in the distinctive Safir design, finished in a light sapphire-blue glaze with gilded edging. An elegant and decorative design created by Arthur Percy for Upsala Ekeby. Origin: Sweden. Designer: Arthur Percy (1886–1976). Material: Ceramic. Dimensions: D. 20 cm. Period: Mid-20th century. Condition: Excellent condition with minor signs of wear. Arthur Percy (1886–1976) was a Swedish artist, designer, and ceramicist. He joined Upsala Ekeby in 1923 and created some of the factory’s most iconic models. Percy became known for his elegant forms and refined glazes, helping establish Swedish ceramics as a leading force in Scandinavian design during the 20th century. See less
