A French art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze made circa 1935-1940. The mounting holds a central bowl and eight panels. Done in clear frosted molded-pressed glass. The shades were made by Cristalleries de Verdun. They are unsigned like most of the late products of this large glass factory.
Etablissements M. Model, the company of Maurice Jules Model (1900-1973), was created in 1925 in Paris. With its shop and offices at 18 rue des Fêtes. In 1928 Maurice Model opened a glass factory 'Cristalleries de Verdun' at 10 rue Dame-Zabée in the city of Verdun. The factory was heavily bombed in June 1940 and subsequently closed.

The chandelier is 35,43 inches (90 cm) high and 20,28 inches (51.5 cm) in diameter. It is in excellent condition. Some unimportant small chips on the rims of the panels all hidden by the bronze mounting. I re-nickeled and patinated the mount. And the chandelier is rewired with nine American candelabra base sockets.
