Don't let the small size fool you! Deceptively heavy for its small stature, this miniature treasure is a true piece of fine furniture sporting a polished mahogany finish, carved ball and claw feet, five dovetailed drawers, and brass hardware. No detail was overlooked, from the rich carving of each curved leg to the beautiful finishing even on the underside. While we were not able to find a maker's mark on this desk, its craftsmanship would have served as a wonderful advertisement - this is one of the finest salesman samples we've seen.
Please note that this is a salesman sample meant to be carried to show customers, not a showroom sample. A standard 12 inch ruler is shown in the last photo to give an idea of the size on this petite piece.
