An exceptional pair of antique Louis XIII-style carved walnut fauteuils featuring rare and expressive figural mask arm terminals. Richly patinated walnut frames are adorned with deeply carved ebonized “Green Man” masks with arched brows, beards, and traces of original gilt highlighting—an extraordinary detail that distinguishes these chairs from more commonly found Louis XIII examples.
The chairs feature tall rectangular backs, elegantly curved scrolled arms, beautifully turned bobbin legs, traditional H-stretchers, and classic bun feet. Upholstered in a richly colored botanical tapestry with stylized florals in shades of terracotta, blue, sage, cream, and gold, they offer warmth and timeless character while complementing the historic craftsmanship of the frames.
