Created in italy during the 1960s–1970s, these impressive lamps feature beautifully carved putti figures supporting elegantly curved candle arms, making them true statement pieces for both classic and contemporary interiors. Hand-carved from wood, the figures are enriched with finely applied gesso and finished with both gold and platinum leaf. The combination of warm gilding and cool platinum accents creates a sophisticated interplay of light and reflection, giving the lamps an extraordinary visual depth whether illuminated or displayed as sculptural objects. The quality of execution is exceptional. Every detail—from the expressive anatomy of the putti to the flowing candle arms and carefully shaped bases—reflects the high standard of italian decorative arts during the mid-20th century. Each lamp retains its original custom-made shade, which is open at the rear to allow optimal light distribution while beautifully framing the sculptural figures. The shades remain in remarkably well-preserved original condition, displaying only minor age-related wear consistent with careful use over the decades. According to the previous owner, the electrical wiring was professionally renewed during the 2000s–2010s, making the lamps ready for immediate use. Each lamp is fitted with one e27 socket, which also accepts e26 bulbs without any modification, making the pair suitable for both european and north american markets. The lamps feature beautifully crafted candle sleeves and are compatible with led, energy-saving, and traditional incandescent light bulbs. Despite their monumental appearance, the lamps occupy surprisingly little space thanks to their shallow depth, making them ideal for placement on a sideboard, console, buffet, chest of drawers, or large bedside tables while still providing an impressive decorative presence. Condition very good vintage condition with light age-related wear consistent with age and use. The original shades are exceptionally well preserved. According to the previous owner, the electrical wiring was renewed during the 2000s–2010s and is ready for immediate use. The original decorative finish exhibits age-appropriate craquelure (crackle) to the painted and gilded surfaces, a natural characteristic that enhances the authentic vintage character and aesthetic appeal of the lamps.
