Made in Italy and marked with the … Read more Here is a vintage circa 1950s–1960s gentleman’s valet by Italian maker Fratelli Reguitti. Made in Italy and marked with the company’s FR International Patent stamp, this beautifully designed valet combines warm wood with brass and black metal details in a wonderfully functional Mid-Century Modern form.

The sculptural upper hanger is shaped to hold a jacket while the curved tray provides a spot for smaller accessories. The front section opens outward to form an integrated trouser press, with articulated black metal arms. Bars along the base provide a convenient place for shoes, while the petite brass casters allow the valet to be easily repositioned and add another beautifully finished detail to the design.

I especially love how thoughtfully designed this piece is. When closed, it has a remarkably slim profile, but it opens into a fully functional dressing valet for organizing a jacket, trousers, shoes and accessories. The sculpted wood hanger and curved base give what is essentially a utilitarian object a very elegant Italian modern feel. See less
