Catalog model Fn24
This pair of armchairs represents the absolute pinnacle of interwar functionalism and avant-garde Bauhaus style from the 1930s. Both pieces were manufactured in Czechoslovakia following an iconic design that masterfully balances the structural lightness of cantilevered tubes with perfect ergonomics. This is the highly popular and collectible cantilever model from the renowned Mücke-Melder company (Model Fn 24). The unique distinction of this matched pair lies in their rarely seen high-back configuration, making them not just visually commanding but also exceptionally comfortable furniture pieces for discerning users.
The pair has undergone a comprehensive, uncompromising professional restoration, executed with supreme attention to historical accuracy and artisan craftsmanship. The resilient tubular chrome-plated steel frames have been professionally polished to a flawless mirror shine, retaining all their original elasticity and structural strength. The handsomely sculpted solid beechwood armrests have been newly finished in a deep black piano lacquer and buffed to a luxurious high gloss, creating a striking geometric contrast with the chrome frame. The seats and backrests have been newly and professionally upholstered over a traditional coil-spring core with premium genuine Italian leather in an elegant cream-white shade. This color choice, combined with the elegant dark piping that defines the silhouette of both chairs, cleverly completes their timeless character.
Acquiring a beautifully matched pair of this rare model in its high-back configuration, fully restored to this pristine condition, is an exceptional opportunity for collectors and investors. This duo will effortlessly anchor any grand parlor, modern residence, executive library, or high-end reading nook, creating an elegant and prestigious zone for relaxation infused with First Republic elegance.
