An antique 19th-century Wedgwood majolica scallop-shell shaped plate with mottled green, brown, amber, and cream glaze. The plate has a molded ribbed shell form with a small handle-like shell edge detail, giving it a natural sea-inspired shape and strong Victorian majolica presence.
Marked on the underside with impressed “WEDGWOOD” and a three-letter date code that appears to read “SZY.” Based on Wedgwood date-code references, this appears to date the piece to around 1870–1871, depending on the exact reading/order of the letters.
Measures approximately 8.5" x 8.5".
Good antique condition with light scratches, glaze crazing, age-related surface wear, and normal glaze/production variations. No major chips or cracks noticed. Best for decorative display only.
