Daum freres & Louis Majorelle
A wonderful French art deco hanging fixture in wrought iron with a Daum bowl in mottled orange coloured blown glass. Made between 1919-1926. It is signed Daum Nancy. The furniture designer Louis Majorelle had a large forge in the city of Nancy and together with Daum these two illustrious École de Nancy members produced a wide range of vases lamps and chandeliers with glass produced by Daum and wrought iron mounts by Majorelle.
The pendant light has a total height of 27,76 inches (70,5 cm) and the glass bowl has a diameter of 17,7 inches (45 cm). The pendant is in excellent condition. The shade is without chips or cracks and the iron mount has a nice patina. On the inside of the bowl we can see a small thickened bump. A speck of dirt in the glass during production and it does not show on the outside. The chandelier is rewired with three American candelabra base sockets.
