Del Conte was founded in the 1940s in an artisan workshop located in the heart of Florence. from the beginning, Del Conte's mission was to offer an innovative product of the highest quality. It was among the first to introduce the production of frames made from a single piece of silver, rather than four pieces soldered at the corners.
In the 1960s, the business grew so much that a new factory was needed, and in the 1970s, a full-fledged design office was established. with this expansion in mind, traditional production was expanded to include silver-plated lines and new products were introduced, such as lamps and leather trunks.
The stylistic rigor was also appreciated by major fashion houses such as Dior, Cavalli, Versace, Gucci, Burberry, and the most prestigious international department stores (Neiman Marcus, Barney's, Bergdorf & Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's) and specialty stores (Gump's, William's-Sonoma, Birks), which entrusted their lines to Del Conte. World-renowned designers also approached Del Conte, forming artistic partnerships aimed at exploring new forms of expression in design objects. This led to the creation of lines of furnishing accessories designed by Ettore Sottsass, Takahide Sano, Makio Hasuike, Barro De Gast, and Liora Reich.
In August 2008, Del Conte Argenterie became part of the Testi Group, a leader in the fashion jewelry segment with the Rebecca brand and owner of numerous other brands (Kris, Carlotta Lyrics, Alessandro Testi). The shared values and the fusion of complementary technologies and expertise underpinned the acquisition and subsequent relaunch of this historic Florentine silverware brand.
