Zaida is one of Cuba’s most respected living female artists today. She is a painter, drawer, illustrator, engraver, mural painter and poet who gathers inspiration from her most profound desires for an equitable world in balance with Mother Nature.
Graduated from the Superior Institute of Art (ISA), Havana in 1987 and from the Fine Arts School in Paris, France in 1989, Zaida is a member of UNEAC and International Association of Plastic Artists (AIAP).
Zaida del Río's works have been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, and they are part of major collections, including those of Cuba's National Museum of Fine Arts and Casa de las Américas. She is considered a leading figure in contemporary Cuban art, with a distinctive style that continues to inspire new generations of artists.
