Vie ardente du sol - From Theater of the Earth is an original black and white lithograph realized by Jean Dubuffet (1901 Le Havre - Paris 1985) in 1959. The artwork is the plate n. 10 from the portfolio Theater of the Earth (Théâtre du sol) that includes 18 lithographs. Edition of 25 specimen. Title on plate. Reference: - L'œuvre gravé et les livres illustrés par Jean Dubuffet: catalogue raisonné, Volume 1. Front Cover. Sophie Webel, Jean Dubuffet. Baudoin-Lebon, 1991, p. 159, n. 536 - Silkeborg n. 333 This portfolio belongs to the exceptional cycle of the Phenomena (Les Phénomènes) realized between 1958 and 1962. In these importants works, Dubuffet applied procedures such as pulverisation, irrigations and emulsion of liquids on lithographic stone, aiming to achieve visual analogies with phenomena relatin to nature and the earth. The result is apparently abstract but at the same time realistic; a poetic classification of impercetible events. Good condition. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
