This colorful work depicts an array of various blossoming flowers and vibrant leaves with a little insect flying amidst the blossoms. Marked with a chopmark to the lower left, the print is displayed in a wooden frame and a white mat.

Born in the Tottori prefecture, Kichiemon Okamura studied traditional stencil dying with Japanese artist Serizawa Keisuke. He was also a student of the founder of the Japanese Folk Art Movement, Yanagi Muneyoshi. Kichiemon Okamura taught at Tamagawa Art University in Tokyo and was on the Board of Directors of Tokyo's Japan Folk Art Museum. See less
