The vessel … Read more Beautifully preserved, heavy antique ecclistastical brass aspersorium, traditionally used for liturgical holy water bucket in Catholic church ceremonies. The vessel features a classic noeclassical urn form supported by a tiered, flat footed base. The exterior highly decorative, featuring hand-hammered repousse and gadrooned leaf motifs wrapped around the wide shoulder of the bowl. The rim is outfitted with heavy brackets holding a thick, swinging metal bale handle.
