A late 19th/early 20th century French Limoges oyster plate manufactured by Tressemann & Vogt, retailed through the Boston firm Jones, McDuffee & Stratton. Five scalloped wells, each hand-decorated with a different seashell motif rendered in polychrome against gilt seaweed branches, gilt scalloped edge, pierced central well.
Backstamped with the T&V bell mark and the retailer's mark, dating the piece to approximately 1892-1907.
Dimensions: 8" diameter
Brass display stand not included.
Very good condition, no chips or cracks. One light area of gilt loss on scalloped edge pictured.
