Vintage Japanese blue and white porcelain bonsai planter or cachepot featuring a square body with deeply indented corners, hand-painted underglaze cobalt floral and botanical decoration, four rounded feet, and a central drainage hole. The porcelain body is decorated on all sides with flowering plants, grasses, and scrolling foliage in varying shades of cobalt blue.
Originally designed as a bonsai planter, it also works beautifully as a cachepot, orchid planter, floral container with a liner.. Its sculptural form and classic blue and white decoration make it an attractive accent for bookshelves, consoles, coffee tables, or garden rooms. Circa 1950's
