Traditional Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. This is an AWESOME vintage Asian drum shaped garden stool, plant stand, side or accent table from Gumps bearing an Oxblood glazed ceramic finish adorned with raised dot or stud details surrounding the top and base and pierced coin motifs on the top and sides (also useful as ventilation cut outs.) This seductive Oxblood color is sometimes referred to as Sang De Boeuf, Langyao, Lang Kiln Red, or simply Maroon as it has the deep rich undertone… it’s GORGEOUS!!! Fun fact… For those that may not know… Gumps is a legendary specialty retailer showcasing everything from exquisite fine jewelry to fabulous home décor. They were founded in 1861 by Gertrude Gump and her husband during the Gold Rush era as a small mirror and frame shop and eventually evolved into an iconic luxury and quite prestigious department store still located as a fixture in downtown San Francisco, California. Once the home of this beauty… but now it’s ready to grace your home with its alluring Traditional presence!! Another fun fact… These stools trace their roots back to the Song Dynasty where they were originally carved from garden barrels or stone blocks but evolved into ceramic or porcelain staples used for indoor and outdoor seating across Asian cultures for centuries. The pierced interlocking coin design is a Traditional motif representing good fortune, wealth, and prosperity. YES, PLEASE!!!
