A beautifully preserved pair of antique hand-blown Bohemian cased art glass vases, featuring a luminous white exterior over a soft blush-pink interior, richly embellished with hand-painted floral enameling, raised pink glass ornamentation, and finely detailed gilt accents.
Likely produced in Bohemia (present-day Czech Republic) during the late Victorian or early twentieth century, the pair reflects the refined decorative artistry for which the region became renowned. Their graceful trumpet form, delicately scalloped rims, and dimensional applied pink glass ornamentation create a captivating interplay of color, texture, and light. Hand-painted floral bouquets in shades of rose, cobalt blue, crimson, and green provide a romantic contrast to the soft opaline-style glass, while the blush-pink interior produces a beautiful warmth when illuminated by natural light.
Subtle variations in size and decoration between the two vases are consistent with hand-crafted production, adding authenticity and individual character to the pair. Unsigned examples of Bohemian decorative glass are not uncommon, and the quality of workmanship, layered glass construction, enamel decoration, and gilding are all characteristic of the period.
Equally at home in Victorian, Traditional, Grandmillennial, English Country, French Country, or collected contemporary interiors, these elegant vases make a sophisticated statement displayed on a mantel, console, dining table, bedroom dresser, or sunlit windowsill where the layered glass can fully capture and reflect the light.
Sold as a pair.
