Vintage 1940s pair of matching tall hardwood artist's stools with round seats, splayed turned legs, and double-rung stretchers on all sides. One stool is in cleaner condition, with the other having accumulated paint splatter on the seat and legs, consistent with studio use.
This style was standard issue in American art school and commercial illustration studios from the 1930s through the 1960s.
