Crafted in France circa 1980, each mahogany table features a white inset marble top surrounded by a pierced brass three-quarter gallery with small shaped side handles. The case is fitted with two drawers, each dressed with brass molding and centered with a small round brass pull.
The front corners are embellished with fluted pilasters, continuing down to turned and tapered fluted legs ending on brass cap feet. The sides and backs are finished, allowing the tables to be placed bedside, flanking a sofa, or used as small occasional tables. The marble tops show attractive gray veining, while the brass galleries and mounts have a warm patinated finish.
The pair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with minor wear and patina throughout. Practical in scale and refined in design, these Louis XVI style nightstands bring classic French elegance to both traditional and transitional interiors.
