These tall, throne-like chairs bring the theatrical elegance of Italian Baroque and Rococo interiors into a refined modern setting. Their sculptural silhouettes feature sweeping curves, cabriole legs, richly carved acanthus leaves, floral motifs, garland swags, scrollwork, and grape-cluster details. Each chair shows slight variations in carving, reflecting its traditional handmade construction.
The frames retain their original gold leaf surface rather than a later repaint or modern re-gilding. Over more than a century, the gilding has developed a beautiful naturally aged patina, with gentle oxidation, soft rubs, and minor tonal variations that add authenticity and depth.
For comfort and usability, all six chairs have recently been professionally reupholstered in luxurious black velvet. The backrests are elegantly tufted, while the seats are smooth and tailored for contrast. New padding, filling, and interior support layers were added during the upholstery process, making the set suitable for regular dining use as well as formal display.

The black velvet upholstery is newly installed, pristine, and unworn, with refreshed interior padding for modern comfort.
