The vase features a beautifully elongated form accented by stylized floral garlands, geometric motifs, soft celadon and ivory tones, and rich gilt detailing throughout. The openwork crown-like neck and highly stylized decoration reflect the influence of the Vienna Secession movement and the celebrated ceramic workshops of Turn-Teplitz, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

At some point in its history, the piece was converted for use as a lamp base and retains a drilled opening through the underside for wiring. The modification appears consistent with period lamp conversions and resulted in the partial loss of the original backstamp, though the remaining Turn-Teplitz mark remains visible on the underside.

Today the piece presents beautifully as a sculptural decorative object, collector’s vase, or could once again serve as the base for a custom lamp installation.

Some wear to the gilt is present, along with age-appropriate wear consistent with over a century of use and handling. See less
