French Neoclassical, Monumental Biblotheques, Cream Painted Wood, Gilt, France, 19th/20th c.
Pair of highly impressive bookcases or wall units designed and produced by an unknown maker in late 19th, early 20th century France. Each example having a beautiful paint distressed finish with giltwood shell and diamond accents. Both units features two large glass doors that swing open to reveal adjustable shelving that sit above two wooden doors that swing open to reveal an adjustable wooden shelf. Two lights were subsequently installed on the upper interior of each cabinet as later additions. Demountable to 3 pieces each for shipping.
