Vintage Mid-Century Japanese lacquered jewelry music box, shaped as a grand piano from the 1950s. This is a higher-end, deluxe variation of the classic Japanese lacquer music box. Hand painted Japanese landscape scenes. Inlaid Abalone shell and this also decorates the 'keys' section of the piano. Interior lined with red velour. Dual-door pop-up compartments with original matching red tassels, designed to hold rings and small jewelry pieces. Small vanity mirror under the lid. Note there is no key. Unfortunately, music mechanism has been overwound and only works intermittently.
Underneath marked, "MADE IN JAPAN"
NOTE for shipping purposes legs will be spun off.
