Antique Louis XV style Bergère with a shaped upholstered back, outscrolled arms, and a loose seat cushion, raised on cabriole legs. The frame shows carved detailing along the seat rail, arms, and legs. The chair is upholstered in a ‘Fortuny-esque’ large-scale floral silk damask patterned fabric with coordinating trim and down fill. The fabric ground is smoky apricot with a design of acanthus leaves in a soft gold. The chair’s overall form follows the classic bergere profile with an enclosed upholstered back. Lovely period piece.
