This is a limited edition hand signed drypoint etching in sepia/sanguine titled "Michelangelo: From The Quinze Gravures (Fifteen Etchings) Suite" by master artist Salvador Dali, published in 1968 on Rives Paper.

Etching in sepia. Pencil signed below image, artist’s proof. From the suite “Quinze Gravures.” Issued by the Collector’s Guild, with a notation on the plate (“C.G. 1968 Dali”). Sheet: 14” x 11”. Frame: 24 1/4” x 20 3/8”.

Dali etched this plate with his printer Rigal of Paris in 1968 as part of the Quinze Gravures suite, which means, Fifteen Etchings in English. The first editions printed were in sepia/sanguine, then in color. All were hand signed in pencil on the lower right. They were printed on both Rives and Japan paper with wide margins.

Later that year, in 1968, the Collector’s Guild in NYC obtained certain copper plates by Dali and they were printed with his permission in limited editions of usually around 2000 impressions with Dali’s stamp signature. These were given as gifts to members of the Guild. To differentiate the earlier hand signed works, Dali carved his name into the etching plate, and also carved, POUR C.G. 1968 (For the Collector’s Guild 1968). See less
