Børge Mogensen designed the Spanish Chair in 1958 for Fredericia Furniture, and it has since become a definitive piece of Danish Modernism. While traveling through the Andalusia region of Spain, Mogensen was inspired by traditional Mediterranean seating and adapted those influences into a design that balances durability with a refined, rustic aesthetic. It remains a celebrated example of functionalist design, valued for its high-quality materials and craftsmanship.

This example maintains a beautiful age appropriate patina throughout the wood frame and adjustable saddle leather sling. There is some scuffing and scattered abrasions on both the leather seat and armrests. Small signs of water oxidation and some scuffing is present on the rear. Buckles maintain their integrity and allow the chair to be adjusted as the leather expands with age.
