A commanding antique white ironstone ewer by C.P. Marquette Co., produced as the centerpiece of a Victorian washbowl toilet set. This is a substantial piece: a flared Rococo spout with undulating rim, ornate C-scroll handle with foliate terminals, scalloped foot, and molded embossed scroll and cartouche decoration worked across the full body. The glaze is a clean bright white with good vitreous quality. Stamped to the underside with the C.P. Marquette Co. shield mark.
At 13 inches tall, this ewer reads today as a sculptural object rather than a utilitarian vessel. Works as a vase, a console accent, or a standalone piece on a dresser or entry table. Strong appeal for the farmhouse, cottagecore, grandmillennial, and Victorian revival buyer.
