Don Eddy is a pioneer of the Photorealism movement. His work from the 1970s famously focuses on consumerism, city life, and the complex mechanics of perception.This composition captures a crowded storefront window display filled with 1970s platform shoes and footwear. Rather than a simple realistic depiction, Eddy layers reflections, transparency, and glass glare. The composition forces the human eye to look through, at, and behind the glass simultaneously—a visual feat that is physically impossible to focus on all at once in real life.
