A lovely pair of true 19th century with beautifully-aged patina and wear. Nicely-turned bamboo rails and spindles and single board seats showing normal wear and shrinkage. Wood is likely maple or birch, perhaps a combination. The chairs are solid, without wobbles and apparently fully intact and original. Size, condition, color and quality are all exceptional. Perfectly blended to form a wonderful pair of charming Windsor chairs.
Probably made in the USA, New York or Pennsylvania where bamboo-turned Windsor chairs were produced in significant numbers during the Victorian era
