Portrait of the Kabuki actor Ichikawa Kodanji IV as Gosho no Gorozo from the series "Heroic Commoners in Kabuki". Toyokuni III (aka Utagawa Kunisada), 1786-1865. Very strong color. Another is in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Provenance: Troy Art Gallery, Royal Oak, MI, 1992. Floating frame. Trimmed print: 14 1/8" x 9.75". Not examined out of the frame. Frame: 21.5" x 16".
