Beautifully painted in purple and green 18 pieces, a very complete set, all in good condition. The detail in the enamel is amazing. The base of the Japanese ceramic piece shows a red overglaze stamp reading 錦光山造 (Kinkozan-zo), indicating it was produced by the renowned Kinkozan (錦光山) kiln of Kyoto (traditionally associated with Awataguchi and Kyoto Satsuma ware).Maker: Kinkozan family workshop (active from the Edo period through the Meiji and Taisho eras), famous for intricate export ceramics and Kyoto-style enameling.Mark Meaning: The characters 錦光山 (Kinkozan) name the famed studio/family, and 造 (zo) translates to "made by" or "crafted by."Context: The Kinkozan studio produced highly detailed earthenware and porcelain, often featuring fine crackle glazes and elaborate hand-painted colored enamels with gilding intended for international export.
