This masterwork is distinguished by its dramatic, heavily gilded "lava" or "drip" rim that cascades down the sides into organic, root-like prunts, perfectly encapsulating the fluid, nature-inspired spirit of the Art Nouveau movement. The entire body of the vase serves as a vibrant canvas for a meticulous, all-over tapestry of Moser’s signature raised enamel work. The thick, molten-gilt upper border is lavishly applied and detailed with three-dimensional enameled insects, including an exquisitely rendered dragonfly and beetle resting directly atop the gold flows. Beneath these gilded drops, a dense, swirling filigree of golden arabesques and vibrant turquoise scrollwork forms a rich, textured background. Floating within this ornate landscape are beautifully detailed, multi-colored whimsical insects—including highly stylized butterflies and beetles in deep blues, radiant oranges, and stark whites—rendered in thick, tactile raised enamel. The dramatic play of light through the glass, combined with the opulence of the heavy 24k gold gilding, makes this a commanding, museum-quality statement piece for any collector of fine antique art glass. This late 19th-century (circa 1890) Bohemian blown glass vase measures 5.75 inches (14.61 cm) in height and is intricately decorated with raised enamel and 24K gold gilding. Reflecting a distinct Art Nouveau and Japonisme design style, the piece is in excellent antique condition with minor, age-appropriate wear to the gilding on high-contact points, which is expected for a piece of this age and visible upon close inspection It is entirely free of chips, cracks, or restorations. In accordance with elite Bohemian glass production of the late 19th century, this piece left the factory unsigned, as was standard for Moser's luxury lines during this golden era. The attribution is firmly established by the signature high-relief enamel work, the specific execution of the insect motifs, the characteristic hand-polished pontil base, and the rare, experimental gold-drip handles.
