An exceptional and substantial oversized solid brass and Carrara marble vanity mirror attributed to Charles Hollis Jones, distinguished by its sculptural silhouette, impressive scale, and beautifully balanced proportions. Standing an impressive 29 inches tall, this is far larger than most tabletop vanity mirrors, allowing it to function equally well as a dressing table mirror or in a dressing room or large closet for use when choosing jewelry.
The oval mirror is framed within graceful brass supports that pivot effortlessly, allowing the mirror to rotate for viewing from either side. Unlike most vanity mirrors, this example features two full-size standard mirrored glass panels permanently bonded back-to-back rather than a magnifying reverse, providing a clear, undistorted reflection from either side. The substantial mirror glass is beautifully finished with polished edges and supported by a solid Carrara marble base with elegant gray veining.
The clean lines and luxurious combination of brass and marble embody the refined glamour associated with Mid-Century Modern and Hollywood Regency design.
