Pair of plates. Mason's patented ironstone china. Maker Charles James Mason & Co. .Pattern Oriental Pheasants was first documented around 1813-1848 . One of Mason’s most vividly colored and sought after chinoiserie patterns.
The pattern was typically transfer printed under-glaze, then finished with hand painted enamels and gold gilding overglaze. Early pieces, such as this, often feature a printed crown and banner mark stating "Patent Ironstone China"
