Although technically designed in the 1960s, the "Soriana" model by Italian design duo Tobia and Afra Scarpa is firmly associated with the following decade, when it reached the height of its popularity. The Soriana is low-slung and invites you to indulge in its curves. Its most notable feature, however, is its minimalist chromed steel frame. This external steel rod structure holds the upholstery taut with buttons on the seat, allowing it to gather at the points where it bends and flows down the sides and backrest. The metal parts, creating a "T" shape, wrap around the seat and enclose the polyurethane filter like a vice. Soriana won the Compasso d'Oro award in 1970. Excellent condition. Restored and upholstered in leather. This piece has an attribution mark,
